Okay I know that's not how timezones work.
Things... stuff...
Progress, nill to swfa. free time all committed to Lego getting K-child's Brick-a-laide display together has swallowed all my awake and alert at home time. Interesting to notice this year I have been more aware of the narrative function of the display, but trying to explain to a precocious 10 year old that their Lego dragons need to tell a story is much easier said than done...
Also don't want to give him too many story ideas, his book is coming along faster and better than mine, even if he can't spell "thort" properly...
We worked WOMADelaide last weekend. Wild vibe, probably the closest thing to a Solarpunk mass cosplay that exists right now. The dust and heat made for some interesting aesthetics, I-child ended up with a facemask, silver earmuffs and a green and yellow Sengalese dress, total afro-futurism meets cyberpunk.
We met Jojo Abot, she was amazing and cool.
Night ride on the XC bike was 'illuminating' definitely interesting how the LEDs change the colour palette of everything and how alien familiar forests become.
Books this week, reading "House of Binding Thorns" by Aliette deBodard and "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Faryland in a Ship of her Own Making" by Catherynne Valente. Between "House of Bining Thorns" and the Wham/Sisters of Mercy overdub video doing the rounds on Youtube I've felt this is Goth Week.
TV, watched, Grimm, yeah, it's a show, I fell asleep due to boredom.
Film, watched Annihilation, made mistake of watching it first night possible, was dead on my feet. I feel asleep despite my best efforts to stay awake. Terrifying dreams all night... Finally finished watching it, love it.
